Resident in Counseling
Brian is a graduate of James Madison University's Community Counseling graduate program and completed his clinical internship here at RCC. Brian has worked with a wide range of individuals. His areas of interest include childhood development, social justice, and adjustment during adolescence and college years. After serving in developing countries and participating in service learning, Brian has developed sensitivity towards global issues and multicultural identity. He is a natural analytic and wonderer who prefers client-centered, solution-focused work. During a typical counseling session, Brian may encourage his clients to explore--amongst other things--core values, family history, and obstacles impeding growth. Brian works with children, adolescents, and adults and offers a low cost self-pay rate. He is currently completely training and supervision to become a Registered Play Therapist once he completes his licensure requirements. He has experience providing Child Parent Relationship Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, and Filial Play Therapy.
During his free time, Brian is most likely exploring Richmond or playing his guitar.
