Amy is a Nationally Certified Counselor who has completed all of her LPC supervision and residency hours and has been approved to sit for her licensure examination by the Board of Counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over the past several years, Amy has worked full time as a School Counselor in an elementary school setting. Amy enjoys assisting children in identifying their innate core strengths through the use of creative modalities, such as play therapy, the expressive arts, and sand tray therapy. Amy has experience working with parents as a Parent Group Facilitator with Greater Richmond SCAN, where she supported parents in identifying parenting challenges and learning more effective ways to connect with and support children in their growth and development. Amy has a special interest in assisting teen parents, addressing postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and supporting children, adolescents and teens on their healing journey. She is strengths-based and is working on completing her hours to become a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy.
When Amy is not working, she enjoys camping and spending time with her husband and children.
