Caitlin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has spent the past several years working with adolescents and adults diagnosed with eating disorders in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment programs. While in this setting, Caitlin has received intensive training, supervision, and experience in the comprehensive assessment of eating disorders and in the comprehensive treatment of eating disorders using a collaborative, team approach. She has managed behavioral support staff and case managers and assisted in program development of one of the area's only higher level of eating disorder care using a DBT model. She has additionally provided outpatient therapy to teens and adults with all general clinical issues in a private practice setting.
Caitlin's journey in the mental health field began many years ago when personally confronted by the effects of a loved one suffering from depression. She also observed the potential for stigma those who seek help can face from those who know nothing of mental health care. Seeing that challenge first hand steeled her resolve to be a voice for change and an advocate for those who need and want it. No one should face added difficulty because they are actively working toward their personal healing. Caitlin's biggest passion lies in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders. She works to help individuals and families face their fears around food and body image. She assists in addressing the irrational thinking patterns commonly found among those suffering from such conditions. Caitlin promotes positive body image and self-esteem among teenagers and adults. She believes strongly that no one should have to walk through their toughest days alone, and that we are all resilient human beings who have the ability to not let our issues, cares, and concerns control our lives.
