She has extensive training and experience working with people of all ages who have experienced acute and complex trauma-- including survivors of sexual assault/abuse, intimate partner violence, sex trafficking/sexual exploitation, and religious trauma. She also enjoys working with individuals who are struggling with grief, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, addiction, or are seeking ways to manage stress more effectively. She is passionate about her work and continually engages in training, consultation, and her own therapy for both personal and professional growth.

Katie's clinical background includes specialized experience working with adult and child survivors of complex trauma. For over 6 years, Katie served individuals in a variety of roles at Safe Harbor, where her most recent role as Director of Counseling and Advocacy involved overseeing all of the clinical operations of this wonderful local non-profit serving individuals and families who are survivors of violence. Through this work, she was the recipient of Virginia Commonwealth University's Distinguished Advocate Award in 2016. Katie has facilitated dozens of workshops and presentations on trauma and advocacy work through the years and is now excited to return to her clinical roots full-time.
