Mike is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adolescents, teens, and adults who are struggling with issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, addiction, self-confidence, grief/loss, ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and mood disorders. He has worked in various settings in either direct clinical or supervisory roles throughout the Greater Richmond and Newport News/Virginia Beach areas for more than 20 years, including community mental health, residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric units, rehabilitation facilities, and schools. He is particularly well versed in working with the psychological effects of medical and physical issues and injuries. Mike is a person-centered therapist and utilizes a Solution-Focused approach to counseling, often incorporating Psychodynamic and Dialectical Behavior Therapy theories as appropriate. Mike is LGBTQIA-affirming and open to working with individuals and couples of all backgrounds/beliefs/orientations.
When Mike is not working, he enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with his kids and dog.
