Psychological Testing

All psychological testing includes in-person interviews, test administration, scoring, interpretation, and a comprehensive written report. All testing is performed by Dr. Colleen Dolan, PsyD, LCP.Please note that most testing is not covered by insurance and is an out-of-pocket cost)

 

Full Psychodiagnostic Evaluation: A comprehensive assessment of cognitive, social-emotional, personality, and environmental factors that can help explain an individual’s emotional state, behaviors, and functioning. The evaluation can help clarify diagnoses and make specific treatment recommendations for management of symptoms and other identified areas of concern. It does not include assessment of autism or substance abuse.

            Age range:      6+

            Tests:             IQ/Cognitive (WISC-V or WAIS-IV)

                                   Personality testing (M-PACI, MACI, or MCMI and Rorschach as appropriate)

                                   Child interview and self-report forms (as applicable)

                                   Parent and teacher report forms (e.g., BASC-3, CDI, BRIEF-2)

            Time:              1-hour parent or client interview

                                    4 hours of testing with client (over 2 separate appointments)

                                    Up to 1 hour of record review/collateral contacts (or more as needed)

                                    1-hour feedback session

            Cost:               $1200-1500 (additional fees apply if more time is needed)

 

ADHD Testing: A comprehensive evaluation for ADHD that includes cognitive/IQ testing, clinical interview, record review, self-report forms, and observer-report forms (e.g., parent, teacher, partner). Includes treatment and educational recommendations for management of symptoms.

            Age range:      6+

            Tests:              IQ/Cognitive (WISC-V or WAIS-IV)

                                    Attention/Executive Functioning (e.g., selected subtests of the NEPSY-II)

                                    Client interview and self-report forms (as applicable)

                                    Parent, teacher, observer report forms (e.g., Conners 3, BRIEF-2, BASC-3, BRIEF-A as applicable)

            Time:               1-hour parent interview (for child) or client interview (for adult)

                                    3-4 hours of testing with client (over 2 separate appointments)

                                    Up to 1 hour of record review/collateral contacts (or more as needed)

                                    1-hour feedback session

            Cost:               $800  (additional fees apply if more time is needed)

 

Trauma Assessment: A comprehensive assessment of trauma symptoms such as dissociation, avoidance, intrusive experiences, and common belief systems that develop with the experience of trauma. Includes specific treatment recommendations for providers.

            Age range:      8+

            Tests:             Child/client interview, self-report forms, and projectives (e.g., TSCC/TSI-2, TABS, ACES, Rorschach)

                                   Parent and teacher report forms, as applicable (e.g., BASC-3)

            Time:              1-hour parent interview

                                    2-4 hours of testing with client (may be over 2 separate appointments)

                                    Up to 1 hour of record review/collateral contacts (or more as needed)

                                    1-hour feedback session

            Cost:               $900 (additional fees apply if more time is needed)

 

Full Psychoeducational Evaluation: A comprehensive assessment of cognitive, educational, and social-emotional factors that affect educational and occupational performance. It includes a full IQ test and achievement testing to assess for learning disabilities; short-term and long-term memory; and screening for ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Information is gathered on the individual’s social, medical, educational, mental health, and family history to rule out any other contributing factors. Includes interview with parent, teacher, and other providers as applicable.

            Age range:      6+

            Tests:              IQ/Cognitive (WISC-V or WAIS-IV)

                                    Achievement (WIAT-IV)

                                    Memory (WRAML-3)

                                    Child interview and self-report forms (as applicable)

                                    Parent and teacher report forms (e.g., Conners 3, BASC-3, BRIEF-2)

            Time:              1-hour parent interview

                                    4-6 hours of testing with client (over 2 separate appointments)

                                    Up to 1 hour of record review/collateral contacts (or more as needed)

                                    1-hour feedback session

            Cost:               $1600-1800  (additional fees apply if more time is needed)

 

Gifted or Learning Disability Evaluation: A straightforward assessment of IQ and achievement level, often used for admission to specific programs for gifted students or students with learning disabilities. Results are presented in comparison to other same-age and same-grade level peers regarding cognitive ability and achievement level in mathematics, writing, reading, and oral language.

            Age range:      6+

            Tests:              IQ/Cognitive (WISC-V or WAIS-IV)

                                    Achievement (WIAT-IV)

            Time:              1-hour parent interview

                                    3-4 hours of testing with client (over 2 separate appointments)

                                    Up to 1 hour of record review/collateral contacts (or more as needed)

                                    1-hour feedback session

            Cost:               $900-1000  (additional fees apply if more time is needed)

 

Private School Admissions Testing/Cognitive or IQ Only: Includes the WISC-V or WAIS-IV (depending on age) for an assessment of cognitive ability. Includes IQ score and breakdown of verbal comprehension, non-verbal/perceptual reasoning, fluid reasoning, working memory, and processing speed. Often used for admission to private schools or to identify intellectual disability.

            Age range:      6+

            Tests:              IQ/Cognitive (WISC-V or WAIS-IV)

            Time:               20-30 minute parent interview

                                    1.5-2 hours of testing with client

            Cost:               $400-500  (additional fees apply if more time is needed)
