Kate is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She loves working with children, families, and adults. She has been doing outpatient therapy for over 12 years and also enjoys providing clinical supervision. She works from a strengths-based and holistic perspective, always collaborating with individuals to ensure their feedback is acknowledged and incorporated into the process. She specializes in working with anxiety, grief & loss, attachment, and acute and complex trauma. Kate feels strongly that individuals can renew, that the creative process is inherently healing, and that transformation can occur in the context of a safe, therapeutic relationship. She has extensive training in the areas of trauma-focused treatment, mindfulness, attachment, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and expressive arts techniques. Kate is currently completing supervision with Rise Van Fleet in Animal Assisted Play Therapy and incorporates her therapy dog, Rusty Freckles, in the process with appropriate individuals. Kate has also completed Level 1 and 2 EMDR training and is actively working towards completing her certification with an EMDRIA-approved consultant.
When not working, she enjoys working with dogs, spending time in nature, and making art.
