Background:

Kristin (she/they) is a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who provides creative healing space for their clients to work through challenges and develop strengths. She is deeply caring, warm, playful, and innovative as she focuses on ways to support the personal growth of the individuals she serves.

Kristin graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2003 with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, Expressive Arts Therapy. For 19 years, she has been providing services, as a LPC and REAT, in various settings including substance use recovery programs for adults, wilderness therapy programs for adolescents and children, and play-based child and family therapy agencies. 

Kristin's theoretical orientation and training include play therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness approaches. They use creative, meditative, and somatic approaches to integrate traumatic experiences. She also uses a person-centered, attachment focused, and neuropsychological lens to strategize treatment modalities. 

Kristin has extensive experience helping individuals reclaim their lives who are struggling with mood issues, developmental challenges/ ADHD, substance misuse, sexual trauma, and complex trauma. She is also culturally competent and supports identity development related to race, ethnicity, LGBTQ+, and gender presentation/ transition.
