Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a graduate of University of South Carolina’s Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling Ed.S. program. Lauren completed her clinical internship with University of South Carolina’s counseling department and after graduation, she was hired on as a staff therapist to work with young adults presenting with a wide variety of concerns. During her time at University of South Carolina, Lauren discovered a passion for working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and body image concerns. When Lauren returned home to Virginia in 2016, she pursued this passion through working with individuals with eating disorder diagnoses in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. Additional clinical focuses/interests include life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem/self-worth, anxiety/worry, depression/sadness, and trauma. Lauren respects the importance of the therapeutic relationship and uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Process therapy to find the approach that best fits each individual client. As a foundation, Lauren works with clients to examine the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how interpersonal relationships may have impacted the formation and maintenance of these patterns.
During her free time, Lauren enjoys singing in her acapella group, watching Panthers football, and spending time with her Pomeranian, Lexie.
