Lindsay is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner here at Richmond Creative Counseling. She holds a Master’s of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Lindsay is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
She began her psychiatric nursing career over 10 years ago as an RN on a psychiatric ICU located in Richmond, VA and continued to work in the acute setting for many years, serving stents on acute detox units and the Emergency Dept. During this time she learned, used, and taught Trauma Informed Care to staff and developed a passion for serving as a patient advocate. Prior to entering private practice, Lindsay was an Assistant Director of Nursing at the hospital. She continues to have a passion for severe mental illness and currently practices at a local group home in the community serving this population.
Lindsay joined RCC in 2019 and has enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with the many talented and skilled mental health professionals on her cases. She likes to spend time getting to know each client individually. Lindsay is a generalist who is comfortable working with most mental health clinical issues, including, but not limited to: substance use disorders, PTSD, schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorders, anxiety, OCD, panic, bipolar disorder, and depression. She is currently taking on new clients ages 12 and above and will consider younger clients who are already in treatment with a therapist at RCC.
Along with the rest of RCC staff, Lindsay is LGBTQ competent and affirming.
In her free time Lindsay enjoys gardening, crossword puzzles, raising plant babies, hanging out with her hound dog, reading, and cooking more food than she will ever be able to eat.
