Jess (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the human services and mental health field since 2013.

Jess received her Bachelor’s from the University of Denver, and during her time there worked in resource advocacy for low income women and leading self-esteem building groups for teenage girls. Earning her degree in Gender Studies laid a foundation for viewing the world through a lens of social justice, structural inequality, and intersectionality.

In 2018 she graduated with a Masters in Social Work from VCU. Her work since that time has included services for people experiencing homelessness in the Richmond area, hospital discharge coordination, and emergency room psychiatric assessments and crisis intervention.

Jess Bills has expertise in working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts; as well as helping folks work through relationship conflicts, attachment issues, transitional life periods, and better navigating life with a ADHD/ADD diagnosis. Jess is gender and sexuality affirming.

Her approach to therapy utilizes elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, as well as incorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Her frameworks are strengths based and solution focused, with an emphasis on improving confidence, self-worth, and self-esteem for all. She believes in the power of humor, community, and finding a way to be a little more kind to ourselves each day.

When not working Jess can be found spending time with her three senior pets, growing hot peppers in the backyard, and enjoying a good book.
