Whitney O'Brien, LPC, ATR-BC (she/her)

wo

Whitney is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered & Board Certified Art Therapist. She comes to Richmond Creative Counseling with a strong background working with issues of loss, grief, and trauma from her previous roles in children's and adult's hospice care programs in Colorado. While in Colorado, Whitney spent considerable time engaging in both direct clinical care with terminally ill children and adults and their loved ones, as well as program management and coordination for Art Therapy programs focused on death and dying. Whitney has a strong heart for this work and for helping hold a sacred space for the bereaved. Whitney is also skilled and passionate about working with all general mental health issues, including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, panic disorder, mood disorders, trauma/PTSD, and ADHD. She enjoys supporting children and adults around issues of relationship stress, work stress, self-esteem/self-worth, phase of life challenges, and, of course, grief and loss. As an Art Therapist, Whitney often utilizes various creative and expressive tools and modalities to assist individuals in accessing thoughts, feelings, and connections they may not always readily access with talk therapy alone.
