Background:

Carla is a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about providing nutrition counseling and education for people who are struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating patterns to develop more functional relationships with food, eating, and their bodies.

Carla uses a non-diet approach to nutrition that supports each person in finding peace with food, optimal body functioning, and true body acceptance. Aligned with Health at Every Size (HAES) principles, Carla works to help people find nutrition patterns that serve the body well, are truly health-supporting, and can foster a more compassionate relationship with the body as our home.

Carla’s nutrition philosophy centers around the concept that all food can fit within a balanced intake pattern.

Carla works with adults, adolescents, and children as young as 8 years of age. Carla is a gender-affirming provider and has experience working with transgender and non-binary individuals. She is currently working towards the Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) credential and has worked treating eating disorders at outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization levels of care. She is experienced in helping people heal from Binge Eating Disorder, Anorexia Nervosa (all types), Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Bulimia Nervosa, and other unspecified eating disorders.

Outside of work, Carla enjoys gardening, reading, bicycling, and spending quality time with her partner and dogs.
