Registered Play Therapist
Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She has vast experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. She specializes in working with issues related to adoption, foster care, sexual abuse, complex trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety as well as grief and loss. Kim has enjoyed being an outpatient therapist for over 11 years. Additional background and experience has been providing leadership with social work students in their field placements, as well as therapeutic work with adoptees and adoptive parents.
Kim comes from a strengths-based perspective and her therapeutic approach includes psychodynamic, trauma-focused, crisis intervention and family systems therapy. As a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, Kim incorporates sandtray therapy, expressive arts, bibliotherapy, narrative and Filial therapies into her practice. She is also certified in Theraplay. She is passionate and committed to her work with children, adolescents and their families. Kim considers therapy to be her life’s work and finds it an honor to be entrusted with being a vessel for others each day.
Kim enjoys providing supervision for licensure as well as for Registered Play Therapy certification. She is currently in the process of completing her certification as a Certified Trauma Practitioner through the National Institute for Trauma & Loss in Children.
