Kristi is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has experience working with a range of issues, including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, suicidal ideation, and crises. She is passionate about women's and LGBTQI issues and has extensive experience working with gender expansive and transgender individuals at any place along the gender continuum. Kristi has a background in Structural Family Therapy and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy techniques. She incorporates creative and expressive activities such as storytelling and songwriting into the counseling process, and believes every individual has a unique story through which he or she makes sense of the world. She works with individuals in an open and honest dialogue and seeks to help individuals increase resiliency and coping skills through identifying their strengths. Kristi also has an interest in supporting individuals in developing healthy eating and fitness routines to support improved mood, increased tolerance for frustration, and overall life satisfaction. She is incredibly knowledgeable about hormone treatment therapy and other issues that are important to transgender individuals. She often works with transgender individuals to navigate the medical and legal transition process.
When Kristi is not working, she is busy playing her guitar and writing music, finding her "zen" while marathon training, and enjoying developing clean and creative recipes.
