Background:

Lauren is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed to treat and prescribe psychiatric medications for children, adolescents, and adults. With nearly two decades of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse in various settings, Lauren returned to graduate school and completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a clinical concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health at The University of Virginia.

While in her graduate program, Lauren completed her clinical rotations in a Crisis Stabilization Unit with adults and an outpatient practice with children and adolescents. Lauren has also served as Adjunct Faculty in various nursing programs throughout Richmond.

Lauren serves as the Director of Psychiatric Services at RCC and oversees our fabulous team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Assistants, offering collaborative support, clinical case consultation, and oversight of all of RCC's medication management policies and procedures. She enjoys precepting future nurse practitioners and is incredibly engaging, thorough, and rigorous in her role as a teacher and mentor.

Lauren feels comfortable working with all ages and has experience treating various clinical issues, such as Depression, Anxiety, Substance Use Disorders, PTSD, ADHD (both children & adults), Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, and Bipolar Disorder. She is also experienced and specialized in providing psychiatric services to LGBTQ individuals and is certified as a Transgender Care Specialist.
