Longing to Belong: Play Therapy with Adoptees & Children in Foster Care: Trainer: Kimberly Hines, LCSW, RPT-S Friday April 17th & Saturday April 18th, 2026 14 APT & NBCC Contact Hours This workshop will examine unique considerations when working with adoptees & children in foster care that will shape the play therapy interventions used in session. Learn specific play therapy theories most conducive to this population and practice up to 10 specific interventions. Learning objectives include: •Identify & explore the unique therapeutic considerations of working with children in foster care/adoptees •Discuss specific clinical case studies of children in foster care/adoptees •Identify the ethical considerations in working with children in foster care/adoptees •Identify play therapy theories most applicable for this population •Discuss the importance of family/caregiver involvement & case management •Experience & practice up to 10 play therapy interventions to be used with this population
