Trainer: Kimberly Hines, LCSW, RPT-S March 8th-9th, 2024. 14 APT Contact Hours Learn the theoretical concepts related to systems theory in play therapy. Discuss unique logistical and ethical considerations in Systematic Play therapy approaches (specifically family play therapy, filial play therapy, and Theraplay) and practice core interventions in this in-person 2-day workshop. Participants will: 1) Identify the history and theoretical foundations of Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy. 2) List the qualities and role of the play therapist when utilizing Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy. 3) Describe how to prepare the play therapy space when utilizing systemic interventions. 4) Describe developmental considerations when utilizing Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy. 5) List the stages of therapy sessions when utilizing Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy. 6) Describe and practice the appropriate selection of games, activities, and directives when engaging families in Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy. 7) Practice Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy interventions in dyads and triads. 8) Document mock Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy sessions. 9) Identify legal and ethical considerations in the use of Filial, Theraplay, and Family Play Therapy.
