Background:

Emily Wills (she/they) is a Resident in Counseling working with adolescents and adults in various stages of life. She enjoys collaborating with individuals on a variety of concerns, utilizing an integrative therapeutic approach with a focus on cognitive and dynamic interpersonal methods. Emily believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship to drive change and creates a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore challenging issues. Using a strength-based perspective, she helps clients leverage their resilience and values to overcome difficulties, both in and out of their personal and professional lives. She emphasizes understanding and compassion over pathologizing, aiming for a collaborative, culturally inclusive therapy experience that supports clients' readiness for change and self-acceptance.

Emily's approach is shaped by extensive clinical experience in inpatient, short-term, and crisis hospitalization settings, as well as career and university counseling training in higher education environments. This diverse background equips her with broad expertise across various age groups and life experiences. As an LGBTQIA+ competent and affirming clinician, Emily is committed to working with a diverse range of clients, creating an inclusive and supportive therapeutic space.
