Background:

Erin (she/her) is a Resident in Counseling with 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. She is deeply grounded in her community-based mental health experience in Southwest Virginia, where she supported children in an intensive treatment program, teens in a therapeutic group home, and adults developing life skills in their homes and communities. Erin most recently was a clinician in a college counseling center in Burlington, Vermont, where she stengthened her interest in supporting young adults. She is thrilled to be back in her home state and explore all the beauty that Richmond has to offer.

Erin primarily centers her therapeutic work in Narrative and Feminist theories and often encourages her clients to be curious about stories of privilege and oppression that shape their connection to self and others. She also draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work to help others better understand the context of their thoughts/emotions and what makes them feel so powerful. Most importantly, Erin finds that relationally building connections with her clients through patience, humility, compassion, and humor is what makes “the work” truly fulfilling. Erin has experience supporting folks experiencing anxiety/depression, coping with self-harm/suicidal urges, navigating life transitions, and exploring intersecting identities. She hopes to connect with more folks who are curious about their relationship with food and how it informs their self-esteem and body image.

Erin likes to think that being a therapist is just one part of her life. You can also find her supporting BIPOC/queer artists, throwing on the wheel, starting a book before finishing the last, and taking long walks in the search for roaming cats.
