Hal Imburg, LPC, CSAC

Hal Imburg is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and certified to perform Auricular Acupuncture Detoxification. Hal has over 30 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment. He has worked in various settings, including psychosocial rehabilitation programs, community services boards, intensive outpatient treatment, and private practice settings. Hal utilizes a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy approach and incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques. He believes that every individual comes to therapy with his or her unique set of issues, concerns, and needs and spends time helping individuals sort through the chaos and confusion in their lives in order to feel more balanced and grounded. Hal also incorporates non-traditional approaches into his practice, such as the use of acupuncture, hand-drums, meditation, and guided imagery.
When Hal is not working, he enjoys drumming with his band, spending time with his wife and teenager, hanging with his four-legged babies, and being outdoors.
