Katherine Foley, MSW

Katherine (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Supervisee in Social Work practicing under the clinical supervision of Kristin Dahland, LCSW, in Richmond, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, with a minor in Criminology, from Christopher Newport University and her Master of Social Work from Texas Christian University.

Katherine is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults, helping them navigate life's challenges while developing confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections. Her clinical experience includes working with youth in juvenile justice and outpatient mental health settings, where she has supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional and behavioral challenges, trauma, and family-related stressors.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and individualized to each client's needs. Katherine incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and play-based interventions to help clients better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful changes. She enjoys incorporating creativity, humor, and interactive activities into sessions, particularly when working with children and adolescents.

Outside of therapy, Katherine enjoys baking sourdough bread, needlepointing, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
