Background:

Liz Chenoweth (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience supporting adolescents and their caregivers across diverse settings including outpatient, community, residential, psychiatric hospital, and treatment foster care. Liz believes everyone has the potential to grow, change, and enhance their quality of life. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, identity, attachment, relationships, or work/school stressors, Liz employs an empathetic and effective approach to assist with emotional healing and wellbeing.

Liz is person-centered, strengths-based, trauma informed, culturally competent, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. She integrates various therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skill building, play therapy, expressive arts, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and family- based theories. Liz’s tailored approach helps clients process life experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, broaden perspectives, and achieve personal goals. She provides psychoeducation and parent-coaching as needed, focusing on empowering individuals and strengthening relationships. Liz incorporates art, play, and other forms of creative expression to enable clients to share and navigate their internal experiences. Creating a warm, relaxed, and safe therapeutic environment is central to Liz's practice. She prioritizes the development of a strong therapeutic relationship, recognizing its pivotal role in fostering positive outcomes for her clients.
