Melissa has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 10 years. In her career she has enjoyed helping folks with incredibly different experiences, backgrounds, and challenges. She uses a strength-based, trauma-informed approach in all her work incorporating various modalities based on what suits the client she is serving. Melissa uses tools and techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, etc. in pursuing her clients’ goals in treatment. Melissa genuinely enjoys helping kids and adults find ways to effectively cope with difficult emotions, stress, traumatic experiences, and challenging life
circumstances.
Melissa has over 25 years of experience working with children, youth, adults, and families in primarily non-profit organizations. She has served clients in San Diego CA, Philadelphia PA, rural Kentucky, and Richmond VA. She has also done a lot of consultation work with community and government organizations across the country to
help them improve their services to kids and families.
