Background:
Quinn is passionate about fostering a therapeutic environment where clients feel encouraged to bring their full, authentic selves. She believes in each person’s capacity for healing and growth and views a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship as central to that process. Her work is grounded in empathy, compassion, mutuality, and respect, creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Quinn is committed to providing an affirming space for all people at all stages. She has extensive experience working with Queer and gender-expansive individuals, those exploring identity, and clients navigating gender-affirming healthcare. Quinn honors each client’s unique identities and intersectionalities, centering them as the expert in their own lives.
Quinn also has significant experience supporting parents who have experienced perinatal loss. She understands grief as complex and deeply individual, and she companions clients through the grief process with care and attunement, supporting integration and healing.
Her practice is informed by person-centered, relational-cultural, and psychodynamic therapies. Quinn collaborates with clients to establish meaningful short- and long-term goals that foster self-efficacy and self-worth, and she finds deep joy in witnessing growth through curiosity and self-exploration.
Quinn grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and has also lived in Iowa and Boston. She previously had a career as a private voice instructor and professional opera singer, which she lets inform her practice as a clinician. Quinn still performs throughout Richmond, but mostly enjoys singing to her cats, Jeffery, Violet, Suki, and Mirri. In her spare time, Quinn likes to bake pastries for friends, spend time outside in the sunshine, and do the daily New York Times crossword puzzle.
Quinn holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in clinical practice from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory.
