Rachael Kaufman, LCSW

Rachael Kaufman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST™ with a strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-informed perspective. She enjoys using play and expressive art interventions as creative and unique ways for clients to learn and understand more about themselves, their world, and their interactions with others. Rachael approaches clients as their own experts in their lives, with a dedication to providing a safe and affirming space to explore and process some of the harder “stuff.” Rachael has experience working with young children, adolescents, and caregivers/adults around a variety of issues, including attachment and regulation challenges, experiences of early adversity and/or complex trauma, developmental delays, generational trauma, anxiety, and family separation or disruption. Rachael is passionate about meeting clients where they are in their current goals and needs and working collaboratively to support their healing and growth processes.

Rachael has spent the last few years working in a trauma-informed therapeutic preschool, providing intensive mental health treatment to young children and their families. When working with children, Rachael believes it crucial for caregivers to be an active part of their child’s therapy, and she enjoys using filial therapies in her practice to improve parent-child relationships. Rachael is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and is trained in Theraplay Level I.
