Background:

Rhea is a therapist who has worked in the mental health field since 2018. She enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and adults going through periods of transition and crisis. The majority of Rhea's clinical experience has been in residential treatment settings for adults with substance use disorders and adolescents with eating disorders, as well as their families. She feels particularly honored to work with people struggling with self-harm or suicidal urges and is excited at the opportunity to apply her extensive experience in an outpatient setting.

Rhea utilizes a range of therapeutic interventions depending on the needs and wishes of the client, including mindfulness and DBT-informed therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems therapy, harm reduction techniques, and motivational interviewing. Rhea is a trauma-informed, LGBTQ-affirming, and empowerment-focused therapist.

Prior to working in the mental health field, Rhea worked in international education and facilitated study abroad experiences for graduate and undergraduate students. Rhea focused on cross cultural communication, American diversity and discrimination issues abroad, and acculturation challenges.

Originally from Kauai, Hawaii, Rhea enjoys cultivating the aloha spirit on the mainland, reading, playing board games, and gardening.
