Background:

Sarah is a Resident in Counseling currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of Alyssa Dahn, LPC.

Sarah has experience working with individuals seeking help for identity exploration, acute/complex trauma, generational trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, emotion awareness/regulation, and many other concerns. Sarah provides culturally competent, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA-affirming care.

Sarah considers learning about people's lives, stories, challenges, and experiences a great honor and responsibility. Her role is to serve as a guide, advocate, and collaborator and to assist folks in cultivating a sense of aliveness, purpose, and overall wellbeing amidst an increasingly complex world. Sarah is passionate about demystifying therapy and empowering her clients to be active participants in their growth. Sarah considers connection with the body, self, and others imperative to a sense of wellness and assists her clients in building these connections.

The predominate approaches Sarah works from are liberation psychology, narrative therapy, existential therapy, intersectional feminism, and the mind/body/spirit connection. Sarah is also interested in exploring the influences of social, political, economic, and cultural context on people’s experience of mental health.

Other specialties include being a goofball, gardening with reckless abandon, and attempting to cook like Samin Nosrat. Sarah loves spending as much time as possible with her daughter, family, and friends- usually outside and always with plenty of snacks.
