Tess Van Gorder, LPC

Tess (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. She transitioned into the mental health field after nine years of experience in customer service and marketing, combining her business acumen with a deep passion for helping others. Using a person-centered approach, Tess focuses on building trust and creating a safe, welcoming environment in her sessions. She is known for her patience, warmth, and approachability, striving to ensure every client feels comfortable, understood, and supported.

Tess has experience supporting clients struggling with anxiety, PTSD, depression, gender identity, and substance use disorders. Tess enjoys helping clients dealing with dating & relationship issues, low self esteem, stress, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and difficulty communicating. She views counseling as a collaborative journey to foster self-awareness, confidence, and the tools needed to lead a fulfilling life.
