Today, you or your child is one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.

We utilize both traditional and non-traditional approaches to help individuals uncover their true potential in creative ways. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying creative counseling techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

As greater Richmond's largest creative therapies, multi-specialty practice, Richmond Creative Counseling providers apply creative interventions to help address complex and problematic issues, often working with parent/child dyads and/or co-facilitating groups and workshops.

We invite professionals within the healing/helping professions to share their expertise by contributing to workshops and consulting on challenging cases. We also work collaboratively and cohesively as a team, often treating multiple members within the same family system.

Because of our very active role as both an Association for Play Therapy and National Board of Certified Counselors Approved Provider, we hold ourselves to the highest level of accountability when it comes to best practice and the latest, most innovative trends in counseling and psychiatric care.

We are also deeply committed to working with the LGBTQ community and proudly employ several members of the LGBTQ community as clinicians and administrative staff in order to provide a safe, welcoming, and relatable experience for many of the individuals we serve who find it difficult to secure a good fit in more traditional practices. Racial and cultural competence are the "rule" for our staff, not just an exception. We strive to ensure that every individual who enters our practice feels safe, affirmed, and respected.

We have 8 highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners who have a wealth of experience with children, adolescents, and adults. They provide on-site Psychiatric Evaluations, Medication Management, and Supportive Counseling. They each specialize in a variety of psychiatric issues, including trauma, ADHD, Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, LGBTQ individuals, Mood Disorders, Neurodevelopmental challenges, and OCD. All 8 providers are able to treat and prescribe for individuals ages 3 and older and accept Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, Optum/United, Optima, and Magellan insurance products.

We additionally have a Registered Dietitian who specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders in children (as young as 8) and adults. She also works with general nutritional counseling and dietitian services for metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, weight management, and general health/wellbeing. She accepts Anthem, Aetna, and Cigna products.
